Site Overview
See the cultural treasures of the Faroe Islands
The permanent exhibition at the National Museum offers an experience of the geology, botany, zoology, archaeology, folk-life and history of the Faroe Islands.
The cultural treasures on display include original 15th-century pew-ends from Kirkjubøur and historical artefacts such as bone combs and beads from the Viking era.
Across the road is a living history museum set within a preserved and charmingly rustic 1920s farmstead, with more historical artefacts relating to farming in the Faroe Islands.
