Experience 1000 years of Harstad region’s history through a comprehensive exhibition that ranges from the Stone Age to the 1950s with a focus on the Vikings, the Middle Ages and the 2nd World War. Outside, you find the Trondenes medieval farm where you are introduced to daily life around the year 1200, with its buildings, acre and livestock.

You can also get on board on ONE OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST MARITIME CULTURAL TREASURES.
When you get on board the world's oldest sailing schooner, you will be able to meet both young people in training, cadets and volunteer crew. They all want you as a guest in focus! We include you in both sailing, seamanship and the history of the ship. We are very proud of "Anna Rogde" in 1868 which today appears as a piece of jewelery after many years of good maintenance. It dares to claim that she is one of the world's largest, operational maritime cultural treasures and of course Harstad's pride! Most trips are in the Vågsfjord, but in recent years you have been able to observe her as far north as Svalbard and south to Brest in France. The ship was given the status of protected by the National Heritage Board in 1989. We look forward to welcoming you on board and hope that you will be as happy as us!
